Great letter and so true. I think we all need to be aware of the dangers. Back into the real world with real friends, real sunsets and birdsong. I keep my fingers crossed for you and us.
Thank you! 3 days later and I feel a lot better, and it's clear as day I need to make some permanent changes now to avoid falling back into the same traps and the same old habits. Bullish sunsets and birdsongs.
Agreed, it was the introduction of AI into the algos that finally got me to admit that is extremely unhealthy and unbeatable imo. So I am working a lifestyle change, removing YouTube, tv watching, X, FB and insta. I dip in quickly for a recipe, and back out. Replacing the scrolling with real world activities. Also boredom is my friend. Just sit and explore the boredom, before you know it youโre doing something in the real world again and feeling good. ๐๐ช
Boredom is the best! That was one of my revelations these last few days. Boredom allows you to actually think about and process the content you've been consuming and the life you've been experiencing, without it, it's just one constant stream of input to another, with zero processing or reflection.
