Good comparison. I play a ton of poker (especially online since the pandemic), and seem to use many of the strategies you mention without being conscious of it. The problem I see with spreading your NFT bets thin, is that the projects with floors around 0.07 ETH are ones that are likely to slowly lose value over time. So, it's tempting to buy a lower tier blue chip, but then many of those are also fading (Cool Cats, Gutter Cat Gang, etc.) So, really the only winning strategy is to mint promising projects, sell on the initial price pump, and perhaps keep some just in case. But, that requires getting on the white list, which is no easy feat if you don't have connections within the NFT space.
